Purdue basketball's Myles Colvin selected for USA U19 squad to compete in FIBA World Cup

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado − Myles Colvin's joining of the Purdue basketball roster has been put on hold.

The incoming freshman was one of 12 players selected on Friday for Team USA's U19 men's basketball team that will compete in the 2023 FIBA World Cup in Hungary from June 24 to July 2.

At 17 years old, Colvin is one of the youngest players on the U19 roster and has a rare Team USA sibling distinction. Colvin's sister Raven, a junior middle blocker for Purdue volleyball, helped the USA U21 volleyball team win a gold medal last summer in the Pan American Cup.

Colvin is the sixth Boilermaker to compete for a U19 World Cup team since 2015, giving the Boilermakers a run of five straight times having at least one representative on a U19 team in the bi-annual tournament.

Caleb Swanigan was a starter for the 2015 Team USA gold-medal winning team. Trevion Williams was on the gold-medal winning 2019 team, while Jaden Ivey and Caleb Furst both won gold medals in 2021 with USA.

Carsen Edwards helped USA win bronze in 2017 and Zach Edey was on the Canadian team that won bronze in 2021.

Colvin comes to Purdue from Heritage Christian in Indianapolis, where the 6-foot-6 guard averaged 19.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.6 steals as a senior last winter.
