Preps: Danielson leads River View in Battle of the Views home duel

Jan. 13—BRADSHAW — McDowell County's first Battle of the Views of the current season turned out to be a crowd-pleaser — particularly if you were from the Bradshaw end of the county.

Jackson Danielson scored 18 points to lead the Raiders in a 62-33 win over visiting Mount View at River View, on Friday night.

The Raiders improved to 8-1 overall — reaching a program record winning streak for River View boys basketball. The program is 14 seasons old.

Danielson also had four steals and 11 rebounds for the Raiders. Gabe Lester added 13 points whie Ethan Justice had eight points to go with his 13 rebounds and six huge blocks. Ashton Hunt added seven points.

Zymir Martin scored 13 points to lead the Golden Knights. Javon Hale added seven points.

River View travels to Hurley on Tuesday, weather permitting.

DUNMORE — Mary Beth Meadows had a double-double and the Lady Mavericks galloped off with a victory at Pocahontas County.

Meadows scored a game-high 22 points to go along with 10 assists, also collecting seven steals for James Monroe (8-5). Maggie Boroski fired up 20 points while effecting eight steals. Mya Dunlap contributed 13 points.

PikeView 48, Westside 42

CLEAR FORK — Cat Farmer clawed her way to 22 points and the Lady Panthers picked up a road win over the Lady Renegades.

Brooke Craft scored seven for PikeView.
