PREP SWIMMING: Fountain Central splits with Lafayette Central Catholic
Jan. 9—VEEDERSBURG, Ind. — The Fountain Central boys and girls swim teams hosted Lafayette Central Catholic on Tuesday.
The Mustang girls got a 105-50 win as Mary Rice won the 100 yard Breaststroke, Haley Webb won the 200 freestyle, Alydia Mellady was first in the 100 freestyle, Elise Webb was first in the 100 butterfly and Peyton Hocking was first in diving. The 200 medley relay team of Josie Harshbarger, Rice, Webb and Mellady also won.
The boys team lost 95-62 to the Knights with Hayden Kler winning he 100 freestyle, William Armstrong won in diving in breaking his own six-dive record in 306.65 and Eli Sowder won the 500 freestyle. The 400 freestyle relay team of Kler, Dallin Johnson, Armstrong and Gage Harrison also won for Fountain Central.
The Mustangs will host Lafayette Jefferson on Thursday.
