Prep soccer: Community Christian takes third in CAL tournament
Nov. 1—WILLMAR — The Community Christian boys soccer team took third place in the Christian Athletic League tournament on Saturday.
CCS beat Cambridge Christian in the third-place match, 6-0.
Mark Arnold had three goals and two assists for the Eagles. Landon Holmgren added two goals and Will Chapin had a goal and an assist. Juan Ramirez made three saves in goal for the shutout.
CCS opened the tournament with a 4-1 victory over Immanuel Lutheran, then lost to St. Cloud Christian in a shootout in the semifinals.

St. Cloud Christian won the double overtime shootout 5-4 to advance in the CAL tournament in Willmar.
CCS rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit.
Scoring goals for the Eagles were: Will Chapin, Landon Holmgren and Eduardo Montejano. Chapin had two goals.
Max Arnold made two saves in goal and Juan Ramirez had one for CCS.

CCS opened CAL tournament play with a victory over Immanuel Lutheran in Willmar.
Will Chapin had two goals and an assist to lead the Eagles. Eduardo Montejano added a goal and two assists and Jack Velyan had a goal for CCS, Mark Arnold also chipped in with an assist.
Juan Ramirez had one save in goal for the Eagles..
