Tulare County athlete of the week: El Diamante's Neveah Creason
El Diamante girls basketball player Neveah Creason was voted by readers as the Visalia Times-Delta Tulare County high school athlete of the week.
In an online poll that closed on Jan. 19, Creason received 6,282 votes, or a 33.7% majority, of the 19,241 responses.
Creason scored a team-high 17 points to lead the Miners to a 74-48 win over Redwood.

Israel Briggs, boys basketball, Mt. Whitney: Briggs dropped a game-high 27 points in a loss to Golden West.
Jagar Brooks, boys basketball, Golden West: Brooks scored 15 points to anchor the Trailblazers to a 56-54 win over Mt. Whitney in an East Yosemite League game. Golden West led 29-19 at halftime.
Neveah Creason, girls basketball, El Diamante: Creason scored a team-high 17 points to lead the Miners to a 74-48 win over Redwood.
Ari Diaz, girls soccer, Mt. Whitney: Diaz registered a goal in a loss to Golden West.
Zander Jensen, boys basketball, Redwood: Jensen averaged 19 points per game in wins over El Diamante and Porterville. He also had a double-double in both games (22 points, 10 rebounds against El Diamante; 16 points, 12 boards versus Porterville).
Zachary Klarcyk, boys wrestling, Porterville: Klarcyk captured the individual tournament crown at 113 pounds at the 62nd Redwood Invitational.
Jaclynn Martins, girls soccer, Tulare Western: Martins had a goal and an assist in a 3-0 victory over Mission Oak.

Jocelynn Melendez, girls basketball, Tulare Union: Melendez finished with 21 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals as the Tribe defeated Lemoore 47-42 in a West Yosemite League match.
Aiyana Murray, girls basketball, Mission Oak: Murray delivered 11 points, four rebounds, two assists and eight steals to help the Hawks down Tulare Western 50-41.
Nicholas Quintana, boys wrestling, Dinuba: Quintana finished first at 120 pounds at the 62nd Redwood Invitational.
Alize San Juan, girls soccer, Golden West: San Juan bagged a goal as the Trailblazers edged Mt. Whitney 2-1.
Blake Trelles, boys wrestling, El Diamante: Trelles was the 62nd Redwood Invitational individual champion at 126 pounds.
Jesus Valencia, boys soccer, Redwood: Valencia scored the game-winning goal to lift the Rangers to a 2-1 win over Porterville.
Kamryn Westra, girls basketball Central Valley Christian: Westra racked up 18 points, eight rebounds, four deflections, four steals and three assists in a loss to Selma.
Nominations are based on information available to the Times-Delta.
All high school varsity players from Tulare County can be on the ballot. Nominations must be received for consideration by Monday morning following that week's games.
