POLL: Who will win MVP for Super Bowl LVII?

Among the greatest honors a player can achieve is to be named Super Bowl MVP. Being the NFL’s MVP is fine, but the one those arguably remember the most is who was the best player in the league’s biggest game.

So now begins the speculation: who will take home LVII honors?

Will it be Patrick Mahomes? He is the league MVP already, and the Super Bowl LIV MVP. The last time a player won league and Super Bowl MVP was Kurt Warner in 1999 for the St. Louis Rams.

Or will it be Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts? Hurts’ dual threat ability offers him unique opportunity to score both on the ground and through the air. In the last twenty-two Super Bowls, a quarterback has been named MVP in thirteen of them.

Perhaps it will be a pass catcher. Recent history does show a trend. Last year’s Super Bowl MVP was wide receiver Cooper Kupp, and in Super Bowl LIII it was Julian Edelman. Philadelphia receiver AJ Brown is among the most dynamic at his position, and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is always problematic for opposing defenses.

Or will it be a defensive player? The rarest of MVP’s in recent memory. In the 21st century, the only defensive MVP’s have been Vonn Miller, Malcolm Smith, Dexter Jackson, and Ray Lewis.
