Pfaadt struggled in each of his first two big league starts but turned in a solid performance in his third outing, giving up one run in five innings, with one hit, three walks and five strikeouts, against the San Francisco Giants on Sunday. … He made an adjustment in the way he throws his fastball and wound up getting five swinging strikes on the pitch, the same number he had in his first two starts combined. … He also throws a slider, change-up and curveball. … Keller turned in a second consecutive scoreless outing, firing seven shutout innings with no walks and 13 strikeouts against the Orioles on Sunday. … He threw a shutout against the Rockies in his start before that. … Keller has a deep repertoire and uses them all liberally, a pitch mix that includes a four-seam and two-seam fastball as well as a cutter, sweeper, curveball and changeup. … He faced the Diamondbacks once last season, giving up three runs in 5 1/3 innings with one walk and three strikeouts.
