Pitchers who rake: Vote for the High School Softball Player of the Week
Wayland High's Sofia Simmons has been voted the High School Softball Player of the Week.
Simmons collected over 12,000 votes to earn the honor. She went 3-for-4 with a double in Wayland's 7-4 win over Boston Latin.
And this week's candidates are...
Shannon MacLeod, Sr., Notre Dame Academy: MacLeod pitched a complete game (4 hits, 6 strikeouts, 1 run) and went 3-for-3 at the plate with 2 RBIs in a 3-1 win over Malden Catholic.
Samantha Kearney, Cohasset: Kearney went 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs in a 13-4 win over Scituate.
Gabby Diaute, Sr., Braintree: Diaute went 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs, 3 runs, a double and triple in a 10-3 win over Natick.
Cara Facey, Sr., Milton: Facey had a walk-off RBI in a 4-3 win over Newton North.
Monica Kelley + Jill Ondrick + Alyssa Burke, Archbishop Williams: Kelley started the week by blasting 2 home runs and driving in 7 RBIs in a 14-1 win over Boston Latin Academy. In an 11-1 win over Bishop Stang, Ondrick struck out 15 in the circle and drove in 3 RBIs and scored 3 times. Burke and Kelley each had 3-hit days. In a 12-8 win over Cardinal Spellman, Burke went 5-for-5. That tally included a home run and her 100th career hit. Ondrick hit a home run in each of the three games.
Kelly McGee, Sr., Pembroke: McGee threw a 2-hitter with 11 strikeouts in a 6-0 win over Falmouth. She collected her 500th strikeout in the win.

Sam + Alannah Waters, Silver Lake: The sisters both hit a home run in a 6-0 win over Bishop Feehan. Sam went 3-for-3 while Alannah had 2 hits.
Ella Franey, Abington: Franey earned her first varsity win in her debut start and helped her cause by going 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs and 2 runs in an 18-3 win over Sandwich.
Sofia Blanco, Soph., Marshfield: Blanco pitched well in a 13-0 win over Duxbury and chipped in at the plate. She struck out 8 and allowed 4 hits in the circle. Offensively, she had 3 hits and 2 RBIs.
Bella Piekarski, Sr., Plymouth North: In a 16-15 loss to Whitman-Hanson, Piekarski went 4-for-5 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
McKenzie Foley + Erin Condon, Hanover: Foley went 4-for-6 with a triple, 4 RBIs, and 3 runs in a 15-3 win over East Bridgewater. Condon plated Noey Giardina for a walk-off win over EB, 8-7.
Allie Blanchard, Fr., South Shore Tech: Blanchard went 5-for-5 with 6 RBIs and 3 runs in a 20-6 win over Bristol Aggie. She also went 4-for-4 with 3 RBIs and 3 runs in a 17-15 win over Cape Cod Tech.
Madi Delano, Fr., Bridgewater-Raynham: Delano didn't allow an earned run over 8 innings of work in an 11-6 win over Braintree. She had 3 hits and 2 RBIs at the plate.
Bilyana Wilkin + Kate Schulte, Hingham: Wilkin didn't allow a run over 9 innings in a 1-0 win over Pembroke. She surrendered 3 hits and struck out 8. Wilkin scored the winning run by drawing a walk, stealing second and scoring on Schulte's game-winning RBI double.
Nicole Ayre, Sr., Tri-County: Ayre doubled and homered, driving in two runs to provide the separation for the Cougars, who beat Bristol-Plymouth, 8-6, to clinch at least a share of the Mayflower League title for Tri-County.
Priya Bedard, Jr., Medway: The catcher batted .714 with 5 RBIs and four stolen bases as the Mustangs (9-3) went 2-0 on the week to run their win streak to six games.
Emily Brennion, Sr., Assabet: Brennion punched out 13 batters in a 9-3 win over Leicester.
Lizzie Brytowski, Sr., Hopedale: The University of New England-bound Brytowski punched out 15 batters including the 500th of her career in a 12-0, one-hitter win over Blackstone-Millville. She also struck out 14 to power the host Blue Raiders in an 8-6 win over Bay Path, went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and a run in a 10-7 win over Northbridge and had two hits with a double and two RBIs in a 14-0 victory over Sutton.
Sarah Danielson, Jr., Lincoln-Sudbury: Danielson was 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI for the Warriors, who scored four runs in the seventh inning to break a tie in a 9-5 win over Needham. Danielson also had a sacrifice fly RBI in a 5-2 win over Hudson.
Sera DeBaggis, Sr., Nipmuc: DeBaggis went 3-for-4 with three runs in a 12-2 win over Douglas and smacked three hits, including a double, and four RBIs for the Warriors in a 22-1 triumph over Blackstone-Millville.
Jacobi Houston, Soph., Bellingham: Houston threw all 12 innings and struck out 17 batters and didn't issue a walk for the Blackhawks in a 2-1, 12-inning loss to Ursuline.
Colbie Lacina, Hudson: Lacina singled three times and drove in four runs in a 14-8 win over Leominster.
Ava McLeod, Fr., AMSA: McLeod drove in two with a triple in the first for AMSA in a 7-5 loss to Bay Path. Earlier, she had two hits in an 11-2 win over Littleton and struck out seven and turned in a three-hit shutout in an 8-0 win over Monty Tech.
Liesl Niedermeyer, Soph., Natick: Neidermeyer went 3-for-4 with two RBIs in 9-1 win over Brookline.
Molly Rand, Fr., Millis: Rand had three hits and seven RBIs in a 20-4 (5 inn.) win over Holbrook.
Catherine Seay, Sr., Marlborough: Seay was 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs in an 8-6 win over Algonquin. She also brought home seven runs on a 3-for-4 day in a 16-4 win over Fitchburg, homering and scoring three runs. In a loss to Shepherd Hill, Seay had two hits and an RBI.
Addy Walls, Fr., Hopkinton: Walls was 2-for-3 with an RBI double and picked up the save for the Hillers in a 3-2 win over Norwood.
