PFF: Giants’ Kenny Golladay a tier 5 fantasy receiver
New York Giants wide receiver Kenny Golladay came in at 25th in Pro Football Focus’ preseason fantasy rankings. This made him a tier 5 wide receiver according their rankings, checking in below other divisional receivers like CeeDee Lamb, Amari Cooper, and Terry Mclaurin.
However, Golladay is also ahead of some other top wideouts in the division like Curtis Samuel, Michael Gallup, and DeVonta Smith.

Veterans Kenny Golladay and Odell Beckham Jr. were both top-10 fantasy wide receivers during their best seasons, but injuries have gotten the best of them. The two combined to play 12 games last year. On the bright side, they both should be the clear top receiver with their current teams. Beckham is the bigger risk because his best three seasons of his career all came from 2014-2016. He should also see the best quarterback play of his career this season to help mitigate the risk.
Coming in as the 25th overall receiver and the fourth-best in the division might come as a shock to a few as Golladay has been among the league’s best when on the field.
Unfortunately, being on the field is not always his best trait. Injuries have nagged the Northern Illinois product his whole career. The biggest example is in 2020 when hamstring and lower body injuries made him miss 11 games. His injury risk and new situation (Golladay is with a new quarterback in 2021 and in a system with a lot more weapons than he had in Detroit) were the main reasons for his lower ranking.
Nonetheless, if Golladay can create a good repertoire with third-year quarterback Daniel Jones and can stay on the field, he will likely finish within the top 20 fantasy receivers.
In the one season that Golladay started every game, he totaled 65 catches, 1190 yards, and a league-high 11 touchdowns making him the No. 9 PPR fantasy wide receiver.
If Golladay can stay healthy, fantasy owners can likely expect another 1,000-yard and 10-touchdown season from the Giants’ newest addition.
