Perry No. 1 in The Arizona Republic's high school boys basketball rankings

There's movement in this week's Arizona Republic high school boys basketball rankings. Here are the latest, from Super 10 through 1A, through Jan. 15, 2024. The Super 10 comprises the top 10 teams in the state, regardless of conference.

Super 10

1. Gilbert Perry Pumas, 14-4

These guys earned their spot back at the top after their 64-63 win on a buzzer-beater 3 by Barron Silsby to beat No. 8 nationally ranked Grayson of Loganville, Georgia at the Hoophall Classic on Saturday night in Springfield, Massachusetts.

2. Goodyear Millennium Tigers, 13-3

They'll get their next major test on Saturday, when they play an 18-1 team out of Richmond, California called Salesian College Preparatory, which lost its only game in overtime to St. John Bosco.

3. Phoenix Sunnyslope Vikings, 12-4

With 6-foot-10 freshman Darius Wabbington knocking down 3-pointers from the top of the key, this becomes a very dangerous team for anybody.

4. Scottsdale Desert Mountain Wolves, 14-4

As long as they've got Kaden and Kalek House, this team doesn't need a big man to win big games. They're young, confident and play with a swagger.
