Penn's Lily Christianson has won three state swimming titles today

Penn High School senior Lily Christianson has won the 50-yard freestyle state title in record-fashion, followed with a title in the 100 freestyle and swam the anchor leg of Penn's state-championship 200 freestyle relay team at the 2024 IHSAA Girls Swimming and Diving Championships being held at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis.'

Saturday's three state titles gives Christianson six in her career, trailing only Olympic swimmer Lindsey Benko, for most career state titles in the South Bend Tribune coverage area.

Christianson set a new state record in the 50 freestyle event of 21.72, besting the 2023 mark of 21.93 set by Carmel's Alexandra Shackell.
