Penn State’s Caeden Wallace drafted by New England Patriots in 2024 NFL Draft

DETROIT, Mi. (WHTM) – Penn State offensive lineman Caedan Wallace was drafted in the third round by the New England Patriots in the 2024 NFL Draft on Friday.

Wallace is Penn State’s 35th offensive tackle (and 89th offensive lineman) to be taken in the NFL Draft.

Wallace joined Penn State in 2019, using that as his redshirt season. In 2020 Wallace played in all nine of Penn State’s games, starting seven of them at right tackle.

Wallace finished the season second in the Big Ten in total offense (430.3 yards).

“We are excited for Caedan to continue his football career with the New England Patriots,” said head coach James Franklin. “Caedan grew a great amount at his position during his time here and has a tremendous upside, having played in 47 career games at Penn State with 40 starts. Caedan took advantage of every opportunity he was given, coming out of Penn State a better athlete and has matured into an even better man. Caedan, an All-Big Ten honoree and a Penn State graduate, comes from an incredible family who has greatly impacted his career and our entire organization. I am really excited for Caedan and look forward to following his career in the NFL.”

In 2021 as a Redshirt Sophomore, he started every game at right tackle. In 2022 Wallace played in eight games, starting in seven.

As of Friday night Penn State has seen 41 players drafted in the last seven NFL drafts, the most in a seven-year span for the program since 1991-97.
