Penguins Engelland, Jets Peluso face supplemental discipline

The NHL Department of Player Safety announced discipline hearings for Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Deryk Engelland and Winnipeg Jets forward Anthony Peluso for illegal hits in their teams' respective games Saturday.

Engelland will have an in-person hearing after being assessed a match penalty for a high hit on Detroit Red Wings winger Justin Abdelkader. Because the hearing is in person, Engelland could face a suspension of six games or longer. He was suspended once before in his career for an illegal check, three games in 2011.

Peluso will have a telephone hearing Sunday for a hit on Dallas Stars defenseman Alex Goligoski. Peluso received a major penalty for boarding and a game misconduct for his hit.
