KEVIN CHESTNUT: Why do you think the MLB postseason is the best postseason of all sports?

PEDRO MARTINEZ: I think it's just a-- baseball is the only sport where you cannot predict, like, who would say that Texas was going to be on top of Houston the way they are with as much experience as, you know Houston has, and the kind of team that they have. I mean, so many things that you can actually see happen that you did not-- not even, it doesn't matter how much experience you have, you can't predict. You have to go out there and get 27 outs. You have to go out there and beat the other team.

The thing is, it doesn't matter how good you are. And I was on top of my game most of the time.

KEVIN CHESTNUT: Yeah.

PEDRO MARTINEZ: You're beatable.

KEVIN CHESTNUT: Yeah.

PEDRO MARTINEZ: You are beatable.

KEVIN CHESTNUT: Very [INAUDIBLE].

PEDRO MARTINEZ: I mean, anybody can come up and light you up just like they did Framber Valdez yesterday.

KEVIN CHESTNUT: Mhm, absolutely.

PEDRO MARTINEZ: I mean, Kershaw-- Kershaw, after 12 pitches was like a stone on the mound. He didn't know where to run against an Arizona team that was really-- clicking in all cylinders.

KEVIN CHESTNUT: Yeah.

PEDRO MARTINEZ: Arizona surprised, shocked--

KEVIN CHESTNUT: Shocked--

PEDRO MARTINEZ: --literally the world. They won against Milwaukee, top notch pitching in all of baseball. Dodgers, powerhouse, and now they're playing Philadelphia. They got ambushed yesterday. But they don't let up.

KEVIN CHESTNUT: Yeah.

PEDRO MARTINEZ: They don't give up. They are resilient. I'm extremely excited about watching this team and see how everything develops.

KEVIN CHESTNUT: How's the postseason been with Turner Sports and MLB Network?

PEDRO MARTINEZ: I think it's been so exciting. Full of new things. Some of the baseball people are the ones right now fighting to get to the championship, and fighting to get to the World Series. Because it's lovely to see with all the analytics-- and I'm not criticizing analytics-- to see people baseball just show their baseball instincts when it comes to winning a ball game.

So many beautiful news stories that are developing us right along with the new rules and the way we're starting to play the game, and the way the game is developing for the future. I'm extremely excited to expect the unexpected.

KEVIN CHESTNUT: We're going to check you out obviously on Turner Sports. We're going to check you out on the MLB Network, and we didn't really get to do too much about the Pedro Martinez Foundation with the Gala, but could you just take us out and tell us a little bit about the gala?

PEDRO MARTINEZ: Well, it's like always. Everything I do in Boston, I always get the best response, not only from Boston, but from the people that really understand what we're trying to do.

I'm extremely happy to hold this one. It means so much. We have moved forward in everything we have done. I can't wait to really go into this one. This one is probably more special than the first one because we were just taking baby steps when we did the first, the second, the third. But now really, really able to show where everything the people that have supported us is going to go and where it's going.
