The Dallas Cowboys' coaching staff now includes two former Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinators.

Paul Guenther, an assistant coach with the Bengals from 2005 to 2013 who became the team's defensive coordinator from 2014 to 2017, is Dallas' new run game coordinator, according to the Cowboys' official website.

Earlier this week, Mike Zimmer was named the Cowboys' new defensive coordinator. Guenther replaced Zimmer as the Bengals' DC when Zimmer became the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings.

Zimmer was the Bengals' DC from 2008 to 2013.

Guenther became the Raiders' defensive coordinator in 2018 when he left the Bengals. After the Raiders fired Guenther in 2020, Guenther joined Zimmer in Minnesota.

In 2019, Guenther criticized the 12-game suspension of then-Raiders (and former Bengals) linebacker Vontaze Burfict, calling it "a witch hunt from the beginning."

The Bengals are scheduled to visit Dallas during the 2024 season.
