Patriots Week 1 injury report: Key CB missing at practice on Thursday

The New England Patriots released their updated injury report on Thursday with at least two notable differences.

Let’s start with the bad news.

After being limited at practice on Wednesday, second-year cornerback Jack Jones wasn’t on the field at all this time out. The defensive back has been dealing with a hamstring injury that could potentially put his availability for Sunday’s regular season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles in jeopardy.

As for the good news, the Patriots did not have offensive tackle Trent Brown listed on the injury report. So there’s hope that Brown’s health is trending in the right direction for him to be available to help protect quarterback Mac Jones’ blindside against a ferocious Eagles defensive front.

Here are the four Patriots players that popped up on the report.
