Pat McAfee ‘happy’ to announce Jets QB Aaron Rodgers is done appearing on his show for the season

Aaron Rodgers’ season officially came to an end on Wednesday. No, not his season as the Jets quarterback. That ended in Week 1. But his season as the most-talked-about guest on “The Pat McAfee Show.”

It seems popular host Pat McAfee has had enough of the Hall of Fame quarterback, with the former NFL punter turned media personality announcing at the start of Wednesday’s show that Rodgers’ appearance on the show the day before was his last. Rodgers made weekly appearances on the ESPN show and reportedly the original plan was for his segments to continue through the playoffs.

McAfee expressed relief that Rodgers’ appearances won’t be in his future, which means less chatter about controversial takes.

“So Aaron Rodgers’ Tuesday season four is done,” McAfee said before he and the rest of his co-hosts applauded. “There will be a lot of people who are happy with that, myself included. The way it ended, it got real loud. I’m happy that he’s not going to be in my mentions going forward, which is great news.”

Rodgers’ fourth season on “The Pat McAfee Show” — and the first since McAfee inked a deal that brought his show over to ESPN — ended just over a week after he suggested late-night ABC host Jimmy Kimmel should be worried if a list of associates of known pedophile Jeffrey Epstein were to be made public.

“There’s a lot of people, including Jimmy Kimmel, really hoping that [list] doesn’t come out,” Rodgers told McAfee.

Kimmel quickly threatened legal action against Rodgers for the claim.

The quarterback’s final last moment on the popular show came Tuesday when he denied accusing Kimmel of having Epstein ties. The Jets star claims it was all just a big misunderstanding.

“I’m not stupid enough to accuse you of that with absolutely zero evidence,” Rodgers said

He also took shots at ESPN executive Mike Foss and former chief White House medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci.

“We’ve given a lot of people who have been waiting for us to fail a lot of ammo and things to attack us for over the last week,” McAfee admitted Wednesday.

“And Aaron Rodgers is a Hall of Fame,” McAfee said. “He’s a four-time MVP. He’s a massive piece of the NFL story whenever you go back and tell it. He will be a huge part of it. We are very lucky to get a chance to chat with him and learn from him. Some of his thoughts and opinions though do piss off a lot of people.

“I’m pumped that that’s no longer gonna be every single Wednesday of my life which it has been for the last few weeks.”
