Panthers Week 6 injury report: Baker Mayfield doubtful vs. Rams

Carolina Panthers quarterback Baker Mayfield may be as tough as they come. But even he can’t overcome the ill-fated high-ankle sprain.

Per head coach Steve Wilks, PJ Walker will get the starting nod in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams. Mayfield—who was listed as doubtful for the contest—may, however have a shot at being active on Sunday.

Wilks also told reporters that cornerback Jaycee Horn is trending in the right direction for the weekend, but won’t be pushed into the outing as to risk any further setbacks. Horn, who hasn’t participated in practice for the past three days, is questionable.
