Panthers rule out Jaycee Horn, CJ Henderson for Week 12

The Carolina Panthers will now definitely be without two of their most important cornerbacks in Week 12.

As first reported by ESPN’s David Newton, Jaycee Horn and CJ Henderson did not travel with the team to Nashville for Sunday’s matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Both were listed as doubtful on the final injury report.

Horn is now set to miss his 10th straight game after exiting the season opener with a hamstring injury. Head coach Frank Reich told reporters on Friday that he thinks the third-year defender will be back this year.

“We gotta take it as it comes,” Reich said. “But he’s been makin’ good progress, feel good about where he’s at. So we’ll continue to take it day by day, week by week.”

Horn, who was designated to return from injured reserve on Nov. 13, has nine days to be moved to the active roster. By Sunday, he will have missed 27 of a possible 44 games over his NFL career.

Henderson, meanwhile, will sit out for his third consecutive outing. Although he was a full participant in practice on both Thursday and Friday, the former ninth overall pick remains in concussion protocol.

To supply themselves with some defensive depth, the Panthers elevated two players from their practice squad this afternoon, including cornerback Lamar Jackson.
