Panthers great Steve Smith Sr. rips Cowboys OC Kellen Moore after playoff loss

It’s extremely unlikely that Carolina Panthers legend Steve Smith Sr. has any involvement in the franchise’s search for a new head coach. (He would had to have completed the mandated inclusive hiring training to be a part of it . . . right, Mr. and Mrs. Tepper?)

But if he did have a say, it appears as though he wouldn’t be pushing for Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.

On Sunday night, the Cowboys saw their season come to a close—in a tough 19-12 defeat at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers. The loss was capped off by a bizarre play from Dallas, one in which running back Ezekiel Elliot acted as the center and . . . uh . . . well, just take a look for yourself if you haven’t already:

Smith Sr. then tweeted out his not-so-flattering thoughts about the play:

The Panthers have already requested an interview with Moore for their head-coaching vacancy, and will now be permitted to speak with him face-to-face following the Cowboys’ elimination. They are the only team, as of now, known to be interviewing the 34-year-old play caller.
