Panthers expected to host former Vikings WR Adam Thielen for visit on Wednesday

After trading DJ Moore to the Chicago Bears in the package for the 2023 draft’s No. 1 overall pick, the Carolina Panthers kinda need a new receiver or two. So, they’ll be hosting one tomorrow.

As first reported by NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the team will bring free-agent wideout Adam Thielen in for a visit on Wednesday. The 32-year-old was recently released by the Minnesota Vikings in a cost-saving move.

Thielen—a Detroit Lakes, Minn. native and Minnesota State University product—was signed by the Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2013. He’d go on to spend the next nine years with the organization—reeling in 534 balls for 6,682 yards and 55 touchdowns.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound pass catcher has racked up two Pro Bowl selections (2017 and 2018) and a Second-team All-Pro nod (2017) during his career. He’s also just one season removed from a 10-score campaign and had a pretty solid 2022—recording 716 yards and six scores off 70 grabs.

Carolina, additionally, had representation at the private workout of fellow free-agent receiver Odell Beckham Jr. on Friday.
