Panthers Beat Cardinals, 27-16, Advance to NFC Divisional Round
Jonathan Stewart was a force all day in the running game, leading the way to a sound victory for the Panthers over the Cardinals, 27-16 at home. With the victory, Carolina advances to the NFC Divisional Round.
Cam Newton found the end zone for two touchdowns against the Cardinals on 18 of 32 passing for 198 yards, one pick and one fumble. On the Cardinals side, Ryan Lindley went 16 for 28 with 82 yards passing, one touchdown and two picks.
Stewart was a focal point for the Panthers, running at will on the Cardinals for 123 yards on 24 carries with a touchdown. Greg Olsen pulled in three passes for 37 yards.
The Carolina defense was the deciding factor in the victory, allowing only 27 yards rushing and 82 passing while picking up two interceptions. They harassed Lindley and the Cardinals offensive line with an imposing four sacks.
