Packers quarterback Jordan Love 'feels so good to be back' in Green Bay for voluntary workouts; social media post gets teammates hyped

It's clear Jordan Love has enjoyed his offseason as the new face of the Green Bay Packers.

His celebrity status has grown and he's been more visible at sporting events and spent time supporting his girlfriend at her pro volleyball matches and when she threw out the first pitch at a San Diego Padres game last week. And he's also shown more of his engaging personality in sports podcasts, and has discussed more personal moments like how the death of his father shaped him and the importance of his mother in his life.

But don't be mistaken, Lambeau Field is where he wants to be most.

"Missing this," Love posted on his Instagram this past weekend with a photo of him after the team's 17-9 win over the Chicago Bears in the 2023 regular-season finale as he had his arms stretched out as if he was giving all the Packers fans at Lambeau a big embrace.

That victory clinched the Packers a playoff berth in Love's first season as the starting quarterback, further cementing him as the team's future.

The social media post generated a lot of excited comments from his teammates and girlfriend, Ronika Stone. Stone called Love "Glorious king pookie goat legend."

While Love will have to wait a bit longer to be in the presence of a packed Lambeau Field, he is back in Green Bay.

The 25-year-old Love was among the players at the team's first voluntary workout Monday to begin the nine-week offseason program.

"Yes sir, we right back to it," Love said arriving, as captured by the Packers' social media team. "Let’s do it."

Later, a beaming Love walked with tight end Ben Sims in the building.

"Feels so good to be back," Love said, before putting his arm around Sims and added, "with this guy right here."

How long will Love be in Green Bay and Wisconsin? Well, he mentioned in a recent podcast with Milwaukee Bucks forward Thanasis Antetokounmpo that he plans to be at NBA playoff games. Could we see him Sunday for the Bucks' playoff opener against the Indiana Pacers at Fiserv Forum?

Packers key offseason dates: OTAs, rookie minicamp and mandatory minicamp

The Packers' offseason workout program began Monday. It marked the first phase of the voluntary program that includes meetings, strength and conditioning, and rehab.

Love was joined by many of his teammates, including several on the offensive side like running back AJ Dillon, newcomer Josh Jacobs, and wide receivers Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, Samori Toure, Jayden Reed and Bo Melton.

On the defensive side, star linebacker Rashan Gary and last year's first-round draft pick Lukas Van Ness were also there.

The rookies will arrive for their own minicamp after the NFL draft, which is April 25-27.

After this phase, there are nine organized team activity days beginning May 20 and concluding June 6.

Mandatory minicamp is June 11-13.
