Packers place QB Aaron Rodgers, CB Isaac Yiadom on COVID-19 reserve list

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers isn’t the only player from the Green Bay Packers landing on the COVID-19 reserve list.

The team placed Rodgers and cornerback Isaac Yiadom on the league’s reserve list on Wednesday.

Rodgers tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday and will miss Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He is unvaccinated, meaning he must miss at least 10 days and won’t be eligible to return until Saturday, Nov. 13. The Packers will start Jordan Love at quarterback on Sunday.

Yiadom, a reserve cornerback, could possibly return to the team before Sunday if he is vaccinated, asymptomatic and has two negative tests within 24 hours. He has played in eight games this season, mostly on special teams.

Rodgers and Yiadom are joining receiver Davante Adams and quarterback Kurt Benkert on the COVID-19 reserve list.

The Packers also signed running back Ryquell Armstead and defensive lineman Auzoyah Alufohai to the practice squad. The team is expected to sign quarterback Blake Bortles at some point this week.
