Pac-12 Women’s Basketball Tournament seedings if the season ended today (February 24)

The Pac-12 Women’s Basketball Tournament will be held from Wednesday, March 6 through Sunday, March 10 in Las Vegas. The Pac-12, if you didn’t already know, has the strongest top five of any conference in the country. Five Pac-12 teams are currently projected to be top-four NCAA Tournament seeds. No other conference can match that total. That’s five teams which will be seeded to make the Sweet 16. Other conferences have two or three significant Sweet 16 threats, but the Pac-12 has more.

With that in mind, here are the seedings for the 2024 Women’s Pac-12 Basketball tournament if the season ended right now. These seedings will obviously change, beginning with results on February 25 and 26. Colorado and UCLA play on the 26th, Monday night, in Westwood:

Oregon was a national title contender five years ago. It’s jarring to see the Ducks in this position.

Washington is a very disappointing 4-11 in the Pac-12. The Huskies have lost a lot of very close games, some of which they led in the final two minutes.

A season-ending injury to star guard Charlisse Leger-Walker has crushed the Cougars, who were an NCAA Tournament-caliber team before the injury.

8 SEED: CAL

Cal is an NCAA Tournament bubble team. If Cal gets in, the Pac-12 will have seven NCAA Tournament teams.

7 SEED: ARIZONA

Arizona just stunned No. 3 Stanford on the road. USC plays Arizona next Thursday, February 29, in Tucson. That game will not be easy.

USC versus Utah on Sunday is a really big game.

4 SEED: UCLA

UCLA hosts Colorado on Monday. The winner not only breaks a tie in the standings, but will take fourth place. The fourth-place team gets the fourth and last first-round bye at the Pac-12 Women’s Basketball Tournament. That’s a big deal. UCLA versus Colorado has a lot on the line. No one wants to be a No. 5 seed and play an extra game in Las Vegas.

3 SEED: OREGON STATE

USC has the tiebreaker over Oregon State, so with the Trojans and Beavers both being 11-4, Oregon State gets the third seed. OSU needs a USC loss to move up to the No. 2 seeding spot.

2 SEED: USC

If USC wins out, it can’t be anything less than the No. 2 seed at the Pac-12 Tournament. USC needs three wins to secure that seed.

1 SEED: STANFORD

Stanford had a two-game lead and a firm grip on the conference, but the shocking upset loss to Arizona has put USC and Oregon State in position to share the Pac-12 title and change the seeding order at the Pac-12 Tournament.

Stanford visits Oregon State on February 29. The outcome of that game will decide the Pac-12 champion, with USC being squarely in the mix. We’ll have more to say about that game after Sunday’s Pac-12 action.
