OU basketball assistant Emanuel Dildy leaves program to join Duke's staff, per report

OU head coach Porter Moser is 34-33 after two seasons with the Sooners.

NORMAN — OU men's basketball associate head coach Emanuel Dildy is joining Duke's staff as an assistant coach, according to a report Thursday from The Athletic.

Dildy spent two seasons with the Sooners. He was hired as an assistant coach in April 2021, just two weeks after OU head coach Porter Moser's arrival.

Dildy was promoted to associate head coach on June 14. But with him now gone, Moser has lost all three of his original assistant coaches.

David Patrick left OU to become Sacramento State's head coach in April 2022. KT Turner then left to become an assistant coach at Kentucky in June 2022, and he's now the head coach at UT Arlington.

OU also saw the sudden departure of assistant coach Matt Brady in November. He left the program just six days prior to the Sooners' 2022-23 regular-season opener.

Moser has hired six assistant coaches in his two seasons at OU, and he'll now look for a seventh one as he tries to complete his coaching staff.
