How the Oregon Ducks performed at the 2024 NFL Combine

The 2024 NFL Combine has officially come to a close after the offensive linemen and special teams players took the field for drills on Sunday afternoon.

A number of Ducks were in Indianapolis for the Combine — 7 in total — and all had really good showings that undoubtedly improved their draft stock going forward.

Whether it was Brandon Dorlus turning heads with 40-yard dash time, Bo Nix dazzling with his arm in the passing portion, or Jackson Powers-Johnson turning in am impressive vertical leap for a 330-pounder, the Ducks were certainly part of the news cycle this weekend.

Here’s a look at how all of them performed in various drills at the combine, as well as their overall NFL Draft grade, according to NFL.com.

QB Bo Nix

NFL Draft Grade — 6.43

  • Will Become Good Starter Within Two Years

40-Yard Dash: Did Not Attempt

10-Yard Split: Did Not Attempt

Vertical Jump: Did Not Attempt

Broad Jump: Did Not Attempt

Analysis: While Nix didn’t go through any of the running or jumping drills, he did enough in the throwing portion of the weekend to impress. With some very nice accuracy and strength on deep balls and a nice array of placements on out-routes and corner routes, it’s clear that Nix is among the top quarterbacks in the class.

NFL Draft Grade — 6.17

  • Good Backup With The Potential To Develop Into Starter

40-Yard Dash: 4.55 seconds

10-Yard Split: 1.54 seconds

Vertical Jump: 29.5″

Broad Jump: 9’7″

Analysis: A lot of analysts and fans who haven’t watched Irving’s tape were a bit surprised at his 40-yard dash time, thinking it was slower than expected, but if you know Irving’s game, you know that he isn’t a brilliant RB because of his straight-line speed. It is his quickness and agility that makes him so dynamic, and he showed that — plus his pass-catching abilities — during the on-field drills on Saturday.

WR Troy Franklin

NFL Draft Grade — 6.40

  • Will Become Good Starter Within Two Years

40-Yard Dash: 4.41 seconds

10-Yard Split: 1.61 seconds

Vertical Jump: 39″

Broad Jump: 10’4″

Analysis: Troy Franklin had a very solid weekend, and while the top 40-yard dash times got overshadowed a bit by Xavier Worthy’s record-breaking 4.21 on Saturday, that shouldn’t take away from the fact that Franklin looked good, and quick, with a 4.41. He was solid in the pass-catching drills, and while a couple of drops marred things a bit, he overall looked good, and like a first-round draft pick.

NFL Draft Grade — 6.34

  • Will Eventually Be Plus Starter

40-Yard Dash: Did Not Run

10-Yard Split: Did Not Run

Vertical Jump: 32″

Broad Jump: 8’8″

Analysis: There wasn’t a lot that Jackson Powers-Johnson had to prove coming into the combine, because he is already considered one of the best interior offensive linemen in the class. He looked great in his jumping drills, and the on-field drills allowed him to display the fluidity and mobility of his feet as well.

NFL Draft Grade — 6.16

  • Good Backup With The Potential To Develop Into Starter

40-Yard Dash: 4.85 seconds

10-Yard Split: 1.68 seconds

Vertical Jump: 30.5″

Broad Jump: 9’3″

Analysis: Brandon Dorlus kicked things off for Oregon at the combine, and he did so in style, turning heads with his 4.85 40-yard dash, which was among the top in his defensive tackle group. He looked very solid in his on-field drills as well, and certainly helped his draft stock.

CB Khyree Jackson

Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

NFL Draft Grade — 6.15

  • Good Backup With The Potential To Develop Into Starter

40-Yard Dash: 4.5 seconds

10-Yard Split: 1.5 second

Vertical Jump: 36.5″

Broad Jump: 11’1″

Analysis: Khyree Jackson looked very good, and fast in the 40-yard dash. He also impressed in the jumping portion, with a great 11’1″ broad jump. Jackson didn’t go through most of the on-field drills for whatever reason — potentially injury related— but he provided a nice base to build on at Oregon’s Pro Day in a week.

S Evan Williams

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

NFL Draft Grade — 5.80

  • Average Backup Or Special-Teamer

40-Yard Dash: 4.6 seconds

10-Yard Split: 1.55 seconds

Vertical Jump: 40.5″

Broad Jump: 10’6″

Analysis: Evan Williams had a lot to prove coming into the combine, and he did a pretty good job of it. His jumping numbers were great, and his 40-yard dash time was solid. This is a player who can definitely continue to improve his draft stock at Oreogn’s Pro Day next week.
