Oklahoma softball transfer Jordy Bahl exits Nebraska debut with injury

Former OU softball pitcher Jordy Bahl exited her debut game with Nebraska on Thursday due to an injury and didn't return.

After transferring to Nebraska on June 15, the junior pitcher got the start in a season opener against No. 10-ranked Washington. Bahl lost her footing and landed awkwardly during the bottom of the third inning, and she had a slight limp as she got helped off the field.

Nebraska suffered an 8-0 loss, and Bahl finished with three strikeouts and three earned runs given up in 2 1/3 innings pitched.

Bahl shined during her two seasons at OU. She boasted a 44-2 record with a 0.99 ERA during that stretch, and she earned Most Outstanding Player honors for the Women's College World Series during the Sooners' national title run last season.

Bahl ultimately transferred to Nebraska, citing homesickness as one of her deciding factors. The former Gatorade National Softball Player of the Year is from Papillion, Nebraska.
