The Dallas Mavericks have a chance to go up 3-1 on the Western Conference's No. 1 seed. Given the narrative that Luka Doncic struggles to get his team over the hump in the playoffs, this would be a massive win for Doncic and the Mavericks as a whole.
Of course, their opponents, the Oklahoma City Thunder, will not let that happen so easily. Sure, the Thunder have now dropped two in a row, but Game 3 seemed a little fluky. Any time a team can hold Doncic to 22 points on 7-of-17 shooting, they should have a good chance of winning. That is, unless, P.J. Washington records his second-straight game with 25-plus.
Prior to this series, Washington had eleven career games with 27 or more points. He's now done so twice in the last two games. This is a very strong run for the former Charlotte Hornet, and the Thunder have to imagine that it can't last much longer. If they can just keep playing their game and limiting Doncic's impact, eventually the Mavericks will fall apart, right? Well, if it doesn't work tonight, it may be too late for them to recover.

The FOX Sports staff points out that the Mavericks have a marvelous 28-15 record ATS when they are favorites of two points or more. However, that is not the case in this game, according to the odds they use. The Mavericks are certainly playing at a high level, but the Thunder are desperate for a win and will pull out all the stops to get one.

Michael Fiddle writes, "Despite Game 3 opening at 3.5, closing at 2, and Dallas winning and covering, the Thunder re-opened at 2.5 and immediately started taking action again. I jumped on the OKC train, and the best way to still play this is to sell points on the alt spread."
