OKC Thunder news: Sterling Brown waived

The Oklahoma City Thunder announced on Sunday that they have waived Sterling Brown, who they acquired in recent days during the massive eight-player trade with the Houston Rockets.

Brown was in the final year of his contract and was owed $3 million. With the Thunder facing a roster crunch, Brown was one of the easier players to move on from due to fit and relatively cheap salary.

The Thunder roster is now down to 19 players, which means two more players will need to be moved on before the start of the 2022-23 regular season.

Brown averaged 3.3 points and three rebounds on 38.1 percent shooting in 49 games last season. The 27-year-old is entering his sixth season in the league.
