OHSAA swimming: Complete list of Canton-area top 12 seeds for Cleveland State district

Jackson's big splash at sectionals in Canton rolls into a tall wave of hope at districts in Cleveland.

Jackson won boys and girls championships in the OHSAA Division I sectional meet at C.T. Branin Natatorium. Saturday's district meet at Cleveland State's Busbey Natatatorium (noon start) determines qualifiers for next week's state meet at Branin.

Jackson, Hoover and Perry swimmers earned No. 1 seeds in numerous events at the district meet. The following list includes the No. 1 and No. 2 district seeds and other Federal League and Stark County swimmers in the top 12, plus qualifying times.

A list including area seeds in the Division II meet (noon Friday at Cleveland State) follows the Division I list, and then a note on diving.

Stark County's OHSAA swimming Division II district boys top 12 seeds

• Alliance junior Ben Craig is the lone area swimmer with a top 12 seed. Craig is No. 4 in the 100 freestyle (49.12) and No. 5 in the 100 backstroke (54.17).

OHSAA Division I district diving

• There was no sectional meet for area divers. Division I district diving is set for Thursday at Cleveland State, 11 a.m. for girls and 6 p.m. for boys. Division II diving is Wednesday, 11 a.m. for girls, 6 p.m. for boys.

• Jackson seniors Levi Hellman and Andon Haines are among the most highly regarded divers in the meet. The girls district includes 2023 state qualifiers Landry Torres of Green, Emmalie Mitzel of Jackson and Maya Bautista of GlenOak.
