Ohio State in top five for four-star defensive end

Ohio State is still in the running for a highly coveted edge rusher. Elias Rudolph, a four-star recruit, listed the Buckeyes in his narrowed list of five.

Rudolph is originally from Cincinnati, where he played at Taft High School through his junior year. Since then, Rudolph has relocated to Deerfield Beach, Florida. OSU has been hot on his trail for some time now.

The Ohio native is listed as the No. 20 edge rusher in the nation according to 247Sports composite rankings. Other schools joining Ohio State in Rudolph’s shortlist are Cincinnati, Michigan, Penn State, and Pitt.

Rudolph visited Ohio State last June where he impressed coaches and earned a scholarship offer. He had the fasted three-cone drill time of all linemen in attendance at 7.6 seconds and also ran a 4.7-second forty-yard dash.

At this point, things are looking good for the Buckeyes. Both 247Sports and On3 have OSU as the leader to land Rudolph’s services.
