Strengths

Breaking It All Down

The first thing that stands out about McDonald is his Big Ten-ready size at 6’3″ and over 300 pounds with the frame to add even more healthy size. McDonald is extremely athletic given his massive size and this should allow him to be moved across the entire defensive line.

Weaknesses

Breaking It All Down

Kayden McDonald can make a large impact, but there are some inconsistencies with his game. McDonald has the skills to dominate every snap and he simply did not in high school.

Breaking It All Down

Rodney Bailey is one of the most underrated Ohio State players in history. The former High School All-American immediately made an impact for Ohio State and started as a freshman and recorded 34 career starts as well as All-Big Ten honors. Bailey was drafted in the sixth round of the 2001 NFL Draft and was in the NFL for seven seasons.

Rodney Bailey is a great comparison for Kayden McDonald, because, like Bailey, McDonald has the opportunity to see the field early and often and play his entire career at a very solid level.
