O what a way to start Spring Training. Baltimore equipment truck on way to Sarasota

The Baltimore Orioles equipment truck, packed with everything the team needs for its Sarasota Spring Training stay, departed from Oriole Park at Camden Yards on Tuesday.

The truck, from Von Paris Moving & Storage, will travel 1,000 miles to reach Ed Smith Stadium. The 2024 season will mark the club’s 15th year at Ed Smith.

Orioles’ pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report on Wednesday, Feb. 14, with the first full-squad workout set for Tuesday, Feb. 20.

Spring Training games are slated to begin Saturday, Feb. 24, as the Orioles host the Boston Red Sox. Tickets are on sale for all Spring Training games at Ed Smith Stadium and can be purchased online at Orioles.com/SpringTickets.

The contents of the Orioles truck include the following:

  • 320 uniforms

  • 300 bats

  • 300 hates

  • 200 batting helmets

  • 10 pitching machines

  • 800 cases of baseballs
