Notre Dame Academy names Janet Carl as next athletic director
Notre Dame Academy announced in a press release that it has named Janet Carl as its newest athletic director.
“We are excited to welcome Janet Carl back to NDA,” Notre Dame Principal/Interim President Jack VonHandorf said in a statement.

Carl has lived in the Tristate since 1996 and has a background in golf. Her first job in Cincinnati was as the head professional at Woodland and Dunham golf courses. She also worked at the American Cancer Society and Lynx Golf before becoming the golf coach at NDA from 1999-2001. Carl won Cincinnati Enquirer Coach of the Year honors all three years in Park Hills.
After leaving Notre Dame, Carl took over as the golf coach at the University of Cincinnati in 2003. She also coached the men's team from 2005-2009 and was named the university's director of golf in addition to her coaching duties. Her athletes were also successful in the classroom, a facet of her success that stuck out to VonHandorf.
“Janet's extensive experience in coaching, combined with her deep understanding of the Notre Dame Academy community, uniquely positions her to lead the athletic department with distinction. Her proven ability to inspire student-athletes, instill a strong work ethic and promote character development aligns perfectly with the values and mission of Notre Dame Academy,” VonHandorf said.
According to the statement, Carl will oversee all athletic programs and initiatives, ensuring the continued growth and success of the NDA's sports teams. Her primary focus will be to provide leadership and guidance to coaches, fostering a culture of excellence, sportsmanship and holistic development among athletes.
Carl's predecessor, Myanna Webster, resigned in February but remained in the position until it was filled.
