Northern State University head coach Kaden Huntrods announces new additions to swim team

Northern State University head swim coach Kaden Huntrods has announced the additions of Tayla Liddle and Lilly Mountain to the 2023-24 Wolves roster.

The duo will join April additions Alexia Hoven (Aberdeen), Emma Beavers (Redwood Falls, Minn.), Annalise Olsson (Richland, Wash.), and Hilary Sonnabend (Brillion, Wis.) this fall.

Tayla Liddle

Liddle is an individual medley, freestyle and backstroke swimmer out of Compass Academy in Idaho Falls. She competed as a prep for Idaho Falls High School and holds personal bests of 25.55 in the 50 free, 54.71 in the 100 free, 1:53.98 in the 200 free, 2:07.47 in the 200 back, and 2:08.60 in the 200 IM.

Liddle was a 4-year starter and 2-year team captain for the Tigers. She won back-to-back Idaho State Championships in 2018 and 2019. She is the daughter of Stephanie and James Liddle.

Huntrods’ Thoughts: “We are excited to have Tayla transfer join the Pack. I think she will come in as someone who will both improve with the team and be a great training partner. Tayla has strong swims across the board, and we look forward to bringing that to Northern. Our team was very excited with Tayla’s decision and I think that she will be both a great competitor and training partner.”

Lilly Mountain

Mountain is a freestyle sprinter out of Sheridan High School. She was a 4-year starter and team captain for the Broncs under the direction of head coaches Brent Moore and Adam Martin. Mountain placed in the top-12 in both the 50-free and 100-free at the Wyoming State Meet.

In addition, she is a 9-year member of the Sheridan Swim Club and holds personal bests of 26.22 in the 50 free, 57.93 in the 100 free, and 1:10.37 in the 100 back. 9-year member of the Sheridan Swim Club. She is the daughter of Molly and Terry Eckard.

Huntrods’ Thoughts: “Lilly will be a great addition to the Pack and the Northern. We look forward to seeing her take off in the sprints. During Lilly’s visit she made it clear she wants to do great things at Northern and be a good teammate. When someone comes in talking about their goals both for competition, being a teammate, and the work to achieve them you get excited As a pack, we are excited to help her achieve those goals."
