NJ Devils Add RWJBarnabas Health as Jersey Patch Sponsor

The New Jersey Devils will add their first jersey patch sponsor ahead of Thursday night’s home game against the New York Rangers. RWJBarnabas Health’s logo will be featured on all Devils home jerseys in an extension of the two parties’ existing relationship.

The agreement also includes an expansion of New Jersey’s youth hockey development programs around the state. Financial details of the deal were not announced.

“For 30 years, RWJBarnabas Health and the Devils have been synonymous with the state of New Jersey, long-term partners who care about their communities and giving back together,” Devils EVP of hockey operations (and Hall of Fame goaltender) Martin Brodeur said in a statement. “I’ve seen firsthand the impact they have made, whether it’s visiting their hospitals with my teammates to cheer up patients and staff or participating in their youth hockey initiatives throughout my career. There is no better connection than to have with an organization that shares our values, and it’s great for this generation of Devils’ stars to showcase that on their jerseys.”

RWJBarnabas Health’s care system is among the state’s largest private employers, with more than 38,000 employees and 12 acute care hospitals.

The Devils, which are owned by Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, consulted with Elevate through the process. Jersey advertising was approved by the NHL board of governors before the 2022-23 season. Seventeen teams had such deals at the start of this season.

“Together with RWJBarnabas Health, we will continue to play an instrumental role in supporting youth hockey programs, fulfill our shared vision of building healthier communities throughout New Jersey and help support the highest level of care for our athletes,” Devils and Prudential Center president Jake Reynolds said in a statement.
