NFL sets 2022 salary cap at $208.2 million
NFL teams will have a lot more money to spend in 2022 than they did last season.
The salary cap will hit $208.2 million, up from the 2021 cap of $182.5 million.
The cap last year was impacted by COVID-19. In 2020, the salary cap was $198.2 million.
The league announced the news on Monday along with where franchise tags will sit for each position, starting with quarterbacks at $29.703 million
• Running backs: $9.570 million
• Wide receivers: $18.419 million
• Tight ends: $10.931 million
• Offensive linemen: $16.662 million
• Defensive ends: $17.859 million
• Defensive tackles: $17.396 million
• Linebackers: $18.702 million
• Cornerbacks: $17.287 million
• Safeties: $12.911 million
• Kickers and punters: $5.22 million
