NFL preseason games on Saturday: Matchups, times, channels and everything you need to know

Are you ready for some football?

The Philadelphia Eagles kick off their 2023 campaign with an exhibition game against the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. Although every one is eager to see Jalen Hurts and Lamar Jackson go head-to-head, both quarterbacks likely will be on the sidelines after signing massive deals in the offseason.

The Ravens are riding a 23-game preseason win streak and have not lost a preseason game since 2015.

The Eagles-Ravens showdown isn't the only action on Saturday. Five more games are on the schedule. Here's everything you need to know about Saturday's NFL preseason games, including how to watch and the matchups.

With Lamar Jackson not playing in the Baltimore Ravens' preseason opener, expect to see plenty of backup quarterback Tyler Huntley.

What to know about Indianapolis Colts at Buffalo Bills

Anthony Richardson, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft, will start the Colts' preseason opener. Head coach Shane Steichen said he wants to "see where he's at" as Richardson battles veteran Gardner Minshew for the starting quarterback job. All attention, however, has been on Jonathan Taylor. The disgruntled running back is away from the team while rehabbing an ankle injury amid contract negotiations that resulted in a trade request.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott said "most of the starters will play" a quarter on Saturday except quarterback Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs. Safety Damar Hamlin is a "full-go" and could make his return to the field since he suffered a cardiac arrest in the middle of a game in January.

What to know about Titans at Bears?

The Titans landed three-time All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, but he's not expected to make his debut during Tennessee's preseason opener. He's not the only one on the sidelines. Head coach Mike Vrabel announced that Terrell Williams, the Titans' assistant head coach and defensive line assistant, would take over head coaching duties on Saturday, while Vrabel serves as an assistant. A big storyline to watch is the battle between Malik Willis and Will Levis for the backup quarterback position behind Ryan Tannehill.

Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said Justin Fields and the starters will play on Saturday, although it's not clear how long. Eberflus said reps will be determined by player.

What to know about Jaguars at Cowboys?

Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said Trevor Lawrence and the team's starters will appear in a "series or two" this weekend, while rookie right tackle Anton Harrison is expected to stay on the field a little longer to get more NFL reps. Calvin Ridley will also return to the field after a yearlong suspension for gambling on games.

Don't expect to see the Cowboys' starters. Instead, Cooper Rush and Will Grier will compete for the backup quarterback position, while the battle to back up Tony Pollard will be ongoing following Ezekiel Elliott's departure. This will also be the first time we see head coach Mike McCarthy call plays.

What to know about Jets at Panthers?

The Jets are coming off a 21-16 loss to the Cleveland Browns in the annual Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio. Aaron Rodgers didn't suit up for the game (Zach Wilson was under center), but could he get the go Saturday?

Bryce Young, the No. 1 overall draft pick, was named the Panthers' starting quarterback last month and even impressed Rodgers during the Panthers-Jets joint practice on Wednesday. "I like the kid a lot,” Rodgers said.

The preseason game will be featured on HBO's "Hard Knocks," which is documenting the Jets this preseason, so look out for the latest episode to drop if you want a behind-the-scenes look at this week's action.

What to know about the Eagles at Ravens?

Head coach John Harbaugh said none of his established starter will take the field, so it will be on the rookies to keep the Ravens' 23-game preseason win streak alive. We could get a look at rookie receiver Zay Flowers, who has been a training camp standout with his speed and ability to create separation.

Meanwhile, the Eagles are getting a first look at defensive coordinator Sean Desai and offensive coordinator Brian Johnson after Jonathan Gannon (Arizona Cardinals) and Shane Steichen (Indianapolis Colts) departed for head coaching jobs following the Eagles' Super Bowl 57 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

What to know about Chargers at Rams?

The Rams will technically be the home team on Saturday, but the Chargers should feel right at home at SoFi Stadium (the stadium used by both teams) in the battle of Los Angeles.

Don't expect to see Justin Herbert, who signed a five-year, $262.5 million extension last month. Chargers head coach Brandon Staley said to expect a "healthy amount" of Easton Stick at quarterback, in addition to rookie Max Duggan. Meanwhile, Stetson Bennett and Brett Rypien are duking it out to be Matthew Stafford's backup, so expect to see either or both of them.
