NFL power rankings: Arizona Cardinals on the rise after 2024 NFL Draft

Where should the Arizona Cardinals be ranked in 2024 NFL power rankings after the NFL Draft?

Several NFL power rankings after the 2024 NFL Draft have Arizona on the rise, with the team climbing as high as No. 22.

Not too shabby for a franchise that ended the season with the fourth worst record in the league.

Check out what NFL writers are saying about the Cardinals in their post-NFL Draft power rankings, with some considering the team a potential "sleeper" in the 2024-25 season and one writer saying that "they could push to be a playoff team this season."

Some, however, are not sold on Arizona quite yet, with the team still ranked as low as No. 28 in NFL post-draft power rankings.

USA TODAY Sports: Cardinals up four spots to No. 22 in NFL power rankings

Nate Davis writes: "Still ample work to do here on both sides of the ball. But the Cards are clearly on the way up, and first-round WR Marvin Harrison Jr. is going to be among the Offensive Rookie of the Year frontrunners … assuming the line holds up in front of QB Kyler Murray."

Bleacher Report: Cardinals ranked No. 28 in NFL power rankings

Gary Davenport writes: "After making the playoffs in 2022, the Arizona Cardinals have posted back-to-back four-win seasons. Quarterback Kyler Murray's ACL tear played a big part in those struggles. However, Murray told reporters on Day 1 of the draft that he's ready to turn the page. 'I don't know if there's another quarterback in the league more locked in than me,' Murray said."

Eric Edholm writes: "I just really appreciate how Monti Ossenfort runs his drafts. For all the failed former Bill Belichick acolytes, Ossenfort might be blazing a pretty interesting trail out in the desert. The Cardinals landed arguably the best receiver in the draft in Marvin Harrison Jr., a solid foundational piece in pass rusher Darius Robinson, one of my favorite Day 2 corners (Max Melton) and a big-play back (Trey Benson) all before Friday night was halfway through. Throw in a few fun mid-to-late selections (TE Tip Reiman, safety Dadrion Taylor-Demerson, edge Xavier Thomas) and the sixth-round lifeline for OT Christian Jones, and the Cardinals had themselves a hell of a weekend. If the NFC West wasn’t so tough, I might have them a little higher. As it is, they’re in the sleeper on-deck circle."

Sporting News: Cardinals at No. 25 in NFL power rankings

Vinnie Iyer writes: "Kyler Murray should be eager to take "Maserati Marv" for a spin. Marvin Harrison Jr. should follow in fellow Buckeyes C.J. Stroud's and Garrett Wilson's footsteps as the Offensive Rookie of the Year favorite. The Cardinals went nuts with seven picks on the first two days, mainly helping Jonathan Gannon's defense beyond Harrison and RB Trey Benson."

Fansided: Cardinals now ranked No. 28 in NFL power rankings

Freddie Boston writes: "Arizona built an impressive draft class, starting with future All-Pro wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. The Cardinals found potential instant contributors with defensive lineman Darius Robinson, cornerback Max Melton, and running back Trey Benson."

FOX Sports: Cardinals stay at No. 22 in NFL power rankings

David Helman writes: "Rome wasn't built in a day. Marvin Harrison Jr. should immediately make Arizona's passing attack much more viable, and I like the addition of Jonah Williams to stabilize the offensive line. But this is still a team counting on a lot of young draft picks. Better, but not ready yet."

CBS Sports: Cardinals up two spots to No. 23 in NFL power rankings

Pete Prisco writes: "They've had two good drafts in a row as they build under general manager Monti Ossenfort and coach Jonathan Gannon. They could push to be a playoff team this season."

Sports Illustrated: Cardinals move to No. 27 in NFL power rankings

Conor Orr writes: "The Cardinals may not make the playoffs in 2024, but they are going to wallop some teams who don’t come prepared. I loved this draft, especially the way they bookended the first four picks with offensive playmakers (WR Marvin Harrison Jr. and RB Trey Benson) and, in the middle, handed Jonathan Gannon some versatile defensive pieces such as versatile edge Darius Robinson and Max Melton, who will provide value both in the slot and when working outside."
