NFL in London highlights: Catch up on all the big moments from the Ravens' win vs. Titans

Editor’s note: Follow all the Sunday Night Football action between the Bills and Giants with USA TODAY Sports’ live coverage.

For the final time in the NFL's 2023 season, Sunday started with a game in London as Week 6 ramps up.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson threw a touchdown pass, and kicker Justin Tucker tied a personal record with six field goals to lead Baltimore to a 24-16 win over the Tennessee Titans.

Tucker, considered one of the greatest kickers in NFL history, had a busy day leading Baltimore, whose offense stalled in the red zone most of the game. Tucker tied his previous franchise record for field goals in a game, which he did against the Detroit Lions in Dec. 2013.

Rookie receiver Zay Flowers caught the 10-yard touchdown pass from Jackson, finishing with six catches and 50 yards.

Jackson was 21 of 30 for 223 yards with an interception, while adding 63 yards on 12 carries. And tight end Mark Andrews added four catches for 69 yards for Baltimore, who improved to 4-2 in the AFC North, and host the Lions next week.

Titans running back Derrick Henry scored a 15-yard touchdown, and led Tennessee with 97 yards rushing. But quarterback Ryan Tannehill had an abysmal outing, 8 of 16 for 76 yards and an interception, and left the game in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury.

Tannehill was replaced by second-year quarterback Malik Willis, who led a field-goal drive in the final minutes. Tennessee is on a bye in Week 7, and will host the Atlanta Falcons on Oct. 29.

Titans score: Nick Folk field goal

Titans quarterback Malik Willis checked down to running back Tyjae Spears, who exploded for a 48-yard gain down to the Ravens' 6.

The Titans reached the 3, then the 1-yard line but were unable to get any closer to the end zone.

So, Tennessee coach Mike Vrabel decided to kick a 38-yard field goal on third down with 38 seconds left.

Ravens score: Justin Tucker field goal

The Ravens might have put this game away despite a failed attempt at a tush push.

Ravens tight end Mark Andrews was not able to convert a direct snap on third-and-1 to secure a first down. It appeared other Ravens players could not get enough push to help Andrews across.

Still, the Ravens kicked another field goal and Justin Tucker’s 36-yarder was good. Tucker has made six field goals in this game.

The Ravens could have kept the ball slightly longer with 4:19 remaining, but instead will kick it back to the Titans with an 11-point lead that should be safe.

Ravens score: Justin Tucker field goal

Though the 21-13 score might not indicate it, Justin Tucker has five field goals and the Baltimore Ravens have an eight-point lead with 12:49 remaining in regulation.

Tucker's fifth field goal came as the Ravens once again couldn't convert a red zone possession into a touchdown.

QB Malik Willis enters game for Titans

Second-year Titans quarterback Malik Willis has entered the game after Ryan Tannehill sustained an ankle injury.

Tannehill was seen walking slowly toward the locker room as the Ravens took a 21-13 lead early in the fourth quarter. He was eventually carted off the field.

Willis has appeared in eight career games and has a 1-2 record as Titans starter.

Titans score: Derrick Henry touchdown

After an unnecessary roughness penalty moved the ball into the red zone, the Titans cut the deficit to five points on Derrick Henry's 15-yard touchdown run midway through the third quarter.

Tennessee's defense came up with a big play, with cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting picking off a Lamar Jackson pass and returning it to the Ravens' 25-yard line. From there, Titans' QB Ryan Tannehill targeted wideout Chris Moore near the goal line, but in breaking up the pass, Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton hit Moore with his helmet – drawing a penalty and an ejection.

On the next play, Henry rumbled into the end zone for Tennessee's first touchdown of the game.

Titans score: Nick Folk field goal

Taking advantage of a roughing the passer penalty that kept the drive alive, Derrick Henry's 64-yard run got the Titans in scoring position and led to a Nick Folk field goal as Tennessee cut Baltimore's lead to 18-6 with 9:24 remaining in the third quarter.

Taking a direct snap from center, Henry faked a reverse and rumbled down the right sideline for the Titans' first big play of the game.

However, the Titans couldn't punch it into the end zone, with Tannehill overthrowing wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins on third-and-goal from the Ravens' 9. — Steve Gardner

Ravens-Titans halftime score, stats

The 18-3 score isn't indicative of how thoroughly Baltimore is dominating Tennessee after one half of football in London.

The Ravens have outgained the Titans 242-66 and have held possession 20:29 to Tennessee's 9:31.

Lamar Jackson has completed 13-of-17 passes for 149 yards and one touchdown to Zay Flowers. Jackson has also rushed for 28 yards on six attempts.

Ravens score: Justin Tucker field goal

Capitalizing on a fumbled punt in the final seconds of the first half, the Ravens increased their lead over the Titans to 18-3 on Justin Tucker's fourth field goal of the game.

Baltimore's final drive of the half apparently stalled at the Tennessee 46 and head coach John Harbaugh opted to punt the ball away, rather than have Tucker try a 63-yard field goal with 12 seconds remaining.

However second-year wide receiver Kyle Philips muffed the fair catch at the Titans' 11-yard-line and the Ravens recovered with 1 second left on the clock.

Ravens score: Zay Flowers touchdown reception

After four field goals, we’ve finally got a touchdown before halftime.

Lamar Jackson found rookie receiver Zay Flowers for a 10-yard touchdown with 3:28 left in the second quarter for the game’s first touchdown.

The Ravens tried to go for 2, with Jackson finding Flowers again, but Odell Beckham Jr. was called for offensive pass interference while blocking on the play.

The Titans blocked Justin Tucker’s extra-point attempt in a quirky sequence after the Ravens’ touchdown.

Ravens score: Justin Tucker field goal

The Ravens have marched into the red zone on their first three possessions, but have been unable to get into the end zone.

The Ravens spoiled a grand opportunity after receiver Devin Duvernay returned a punt 70 yards to the Titans' 17-yard line to spark the possession. Titans punter Ryan Stonehouse made the touchdown-saving tackle.

While Lamar Jackson and Gus Edwards were able to rush the ball to the 1-yard line, Jackson had a run that lost 4 yards on third-and-1.

Ravens score: Justin Tucker field goal

We’ve got some footy in London. As in another field goal.

Ravens kicker Justin Tucker’s 28-yard field goal gave Baltimore a 6-3 lead with 4 seconds left in the first quarter.

Baltimore’s drive was sparked by Odell Beckham Jr.’s 32-yard completion from quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Titans score: Nick Folk field goal

Both teams have scored field goals on their opening drives.

Titans receiver Chris Moore was stopped by Ravens linebacker Patrick Queen one yard shy of a first down inside the 10, and the Titans opted for the easy points.

Nick Folk’s 26-yard field goal tied this game at 3-3 with 5:34 left in the first quarter.

While three carries for 4 yards by Derrick Henry didn’t do much, Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill completed 4 of 5 passes for 34 yards to lead the drive. — Safid Deen

Titans' Josh Whyle injury in first quarter

Titans tight end Josh Whyle was removed from the game in the first quarter after an ugly collision.

Whyle caught an 11-yard pass, but was met by Ravens defenders in linebacker Patrick Queen, cornerback Marlon Humphrey and safety Kyle Hamilton on the takedown.

Ravens score: Justin Tucker field goal

The Ravens scored on their first drive, but maybe not how they would’ve preferred.

Ravens running back Gus Edwards was stuffed on third-and-1, forcing Justin Tucker’s 41-yard field goal to take an early 3-0 lead with 10:26 left in the first quarter.

Ravens star Lamar Jackson was 4-for-4 passing to four different receivers for 45 yards, with a 21-yard completion to Nelson Agholor, but left guard John Simpson was injured during the opening drive. — Safid Deen

How OBJ, Lamar Jackson and Ravens' new-look offense puts weapons in prime position

Space, pace and weapons.

It’s not a military slogan, but how offensive coordinator Todd Monken plans on putting his stamp on the Baltimore Ravens – if training camp and his recent coaching history are any indication.

“Todd is a big advocate of this: Take the guys you have and use them, the things they do well,” head coach John Harbaugh said.

This offseason, the Ravens bolstered the players around quarterback Lamar Jackson. They signed receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Nelson Agholor, both Super Bowl champions. Wideout Zay Flowers was their first-round draft choice. And former first-round pick Rashod Bateman is back on the field at “99%” following a foot injury that cost him the bulk of last season.

“I definitely think Todd wants to throw the ball, and we’ve got a lot of talented guys,” said Beckham, who played in Monken’s system in 2019 with the Cleveland Browns. “So, I think, just finding ways to get the playmakers the ball in their hands and be an explosive offense – that’s what stands out the most.”
