MINTY BETS: Welcome to "Mad Bets," everyone. The NFL season is back, and so are we. I'm Minty Bets here with my usual partner, Jared Quay, and new face this season, Pam Maldonado. Guys, we usually give you guys our favorite bets and our best bets that we believe will win you guys some money, but today we're gonna do something a little different. We're gonna give you the worst NFL futures bets you could possibly make.

So, Pam, let's start with you. What's the worst futures bet you could make right now?

PAM MALDONADO: Any preseason bet on any rookie quarterback to win Offensive Rookie of the Year, at least for now. I think because back in May when these odds were released, they were better. You had bigger odds then. The odds have come down. You may get better odds in season.

If you like Lawrence, back-to-back good passing defenses in Denver Broncos and the Arizona Cardinals in weeks two and three. The odds are gonna get worse. If you like Wilson, wait until midseason. In the second half of the season, they play seven games against the top half defenses, five against defenses ranked in the top seven. Plus 900, that is way too low for the second half of the stretch. And if you like Lance, Jimmy Garoppolo is likely to get the start for the 49ers. Save your money now. Look for in-season opportunities.

JARED QUAY: What happens if one guy takes it and runs away with it though? What happens if he has a good week one, good week two? And you're like, man, should have got him preseason.

PAM MALDONADO: Nope. So many of these teams play so many good defenses early on. They're all going to be tested. You have an opportunity in week three or later to get better odds.

MINTY BETS: Love that. It's all about the value. All right, Jared, you're full of hot takes. I cannot wait to hear what you have for us.

JARED QUAY: Look, I'm trying to save people money. The worst bet is a bet that probably a lot of people are betting, all right? I think the worst bet for futures right now is betting the LA Chargers to make the playoffs at plus 110. It seems tempting, don't get me wrong. They looked good last year. Herbert's in his second year.

The AFC is too stacked right now. Clearly, the Bills. Clearly, the Ravens. Clearly, the Titans. And you add the fact you got the Browns, you got the Dolphins. it really is gonna come down between the Chargers and the Colts here. And I just feel like the Chargers aren't a strong enough team with a new coach and a second-year quarterback.

MINTY BETS: My worst bet is going to be taking the Saints under 9 and 1/2 wins. Now Sean Payton is a great coach. He's a winning coach, in fact. The Saints have finished at over 10 wins in eight of their last 12 seasons. And I know that was with Drew Brees, but Jameis Winston didn't look bad in preseason. I am not overreacting when I say that LASIK eye surgery did wonders.

Now I know that they have kind of a trickier schedule paying the Bills, the Seahawks, the Titans, and the Bucs twice, but I don't think they finish below .500. Don't count the Saints out. Betting under 9 and 1/2 wins is a bad bet, in my opinion. And they're gonna go marching in on that over.

JARED QUAY: That's some fandom, Minty. You know there's some fandom going on there.

MINTY BETS: No, no, I'm a Raiders fan now. If you guys want to make any of these terrible bets, don't forget to use our risk-free bet over at betmgm.com/yahoo.
