UFC Fight Night 27 Gets Last-Minute Flyweight Bout Pitting Dustin Ortiz vs. Justin Scoggins

UFC officials on Tuesday made a late addition to next week’s UFC Fight Night 27: Condit vs. Kampmann 2 fight card, pitting flyweights Dustin Ortiz and Justin Scoggins against one another on the preliminary portion of the fight card.

UFC Fight Night 27 takes place Wednesday, Aug. 28, at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. It airs live on Fox Sports 1 in the U.S.

Dustin Ortiz (11-2) fights out of RoufusSport in Milwaukee and is a teammate of former WEC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis.

He is considered a top flyweight prospect, having fought for Strikeforce Challengers, RFA, King of the Cage, Tachi Palace Fights, and other mid-level promotions. One of the two blemishes on his record is a decision loss to current UFC 125-pounder Ian McCall.

Ortiz meets Justin Scoggins, who enters the fight with a spotless 5-0 record, but he has only been fighting professionally since early 2012.

A rematch between Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann headlines the card. It is a pivotal bout that will keep the winner in the realm of welterweight title talk.
