Tulane 51, Navy 41

NEW ORLEANS -- Josh Davis collected 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead Tulane to its sixth consecutive homecourt victory, 51-41, over Navy on Saturday at the newly restored Devlin Fieldhouse.

While neither team shot the ball well, Tulane (6-2) was in command most of the way, extending an early lead to 10 points, which it took into halftime, 23-13.

The Green Wave extended the lead to as many as 14 points in the second half before three-pointers by Brandon Venturini and Phil Guglielmo brought Navy (4-5) to within 29-23 with 13:55 left.

The Midshipmen cut the lead to five points at one point, but the Green Wave worked the lead back to 13 and was not seriously threatened down the stretch.

Jordan Callahan was the only other Green Wave player in double-figures, scoring 10 points.

The Green Wave shot only 28 percent from the field (13-of-47), but the Midshipmen couldn't take advantage, shooting 36 percent (17-of-47).
