Sources: Heat add to frontcourt

Free agent Willie Reed has agreed to a two-year deal with the Miami Heat, league sources told The Vertical.

For Reed, who has battled in training camps and on 10-day deals, the contract represents a second guaranteed agreement in the NBA. He'll have a player option in the second season, sources said.

Reed, a 6-foot-11 forward/center, averaged 4.7 points and 3.1 rebounds in 39 games for the Brooklyn Nets last season. The Heat have worked to infuse their frontline with youth and athleticism, reaching agreements with Reed, Derrick Williams and James Johnson.

Reed, 26, went undrafted in the 2011 NBA draft and has shuttled between the NBA Development League, overseas and NBA rosters with Sacramento, Memphis and Brooklyn.
