Report: Raiders will fire OC Knapp

Greg Knapp's second stint as the Oakland Raiders' offensive coordinator might be over after one disappointing season.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the team is expected to fire Knapp.

Oakland finished 18th in total offense this season at 344 yards per game, but the Raiders ranked 28th in rushing with 88.8 yards per game. The lack of a ground attack contributed to the team frequently falling behind, which in turn led to increasing passing stats as the Raiders played catch-up. Oakland ranked eighth with 255.2 passing yards per game, although the team's average of 6.9 yards per completion tied for 19th.

Knapp also was the Raiders' offensive coordinator in 2007-08. He also has held the same post with the San Francisco 49ers (2001-03), the Atlanta Falcons (2004-06) and the Seattle Seahawks (2009). He served as the Houston Texans' quarterbacks coach in 2010-11.

The Raiders finished the season 4-12 under first-year head coach Dennis Allen. They will get the third, fourth or fifth pick in the 2013 draft.
