Rangers resign LW Zuccarello

The New York Rangers resigned Mats Zuccarello to a one-year contract Tuesday, avoiding arbitration with the restricted free agent.

The team didn't disclose financial terms, though multiple outlets reported the value at $1.15 million.

The 25-year-old returned to the Rangers late in the 2012-13 season after starting with Magnitogorsk Metallurg of the Kontinental Hockey League. He has 11 goals and 34 points in 67 games with the Rangers over parts of three seasons.

"Really excited to still be a part of the Rangers!" the winger said in a Tweet. "Now of(f) to New York to prepare for the season!"
