Louisville is hosting a big conference game in September again.

The Cardinals and Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Lamar Jackson will host national champion Clemson on Sep. 16, 2017. The matchup is the first ACC game for Clemson and the second for Louisville. The Cardinals open ACC play a week earlier with a trip to North Carolina.

A monster game at home vs. an ACC foe in September 2016 worked out pretty well for Louisville. The Cardinals demolished Florida State 63-20 on Sept. 17, a game that helped boost Jackson to a Heisman frontrunner status that he wouldn’t relinquish all season.

Clemson hosts Florida State on Nov. 11 while the Cardinals visit the Seminoles on Oct. 21. If a team gets through that triple-threat match undefeated, it’ll be the odds-on favorite for the ACC’s Atlantic Division.
