Division II Girls Soccer Sectional Final

Ontario 12, Shelby 0

The Ontario Warriors cruised to a Division II sectional championship on Saturday defeating Shelby 12-0.

Braelyn Llewellyn, Addi Pittman and Hattie Yugovich had two goals apiece while Rowan McManes, Elaina Seif, Natalie Smith, Leila Stevens, Jakiah Trammel and Jordyn Yeager had one goal apiece. Pittman handed out three assists for a huge day while Sasha Bulakovski, Meghan Goldbach, McManes, Seif, Smith and Trammel had one assist apiece.

The Warriors improve to 14-2-2 and will play Lexington at 5 p.m. on Wednesday at Lexington in the district semifinals.

The Whippets end their season with a 5-11-2 record.

Division I Boys Soccer Sectional Final

Sylvania Northview 3, Madison 2 (2OT)

The Madison Rams saw their season come to a close in the Division I sectional finals in a 3-2 double-overtime loss to Sylvania Northview on Saturday.

The Rams end the season with a 12-4-2 record.

Division III Boys Soccer Sectional Final

The Shelby Whippets won their first sectional championship in 11 years with a three-set victory over Bellevue on Thursday night.

Division II Boys Soccer Sectional Final

Lexington 12, Tiffin Columbian 0

The Lexington Minutemen picked up another sectional championship on Thursday by beating Tiffin Columbian 12-0 in the title match.

Zachary Turlo led the way with three goals while Dylan George and Jack Hiebel had two apiece and Jackson Pigg, Terrance Corbin, Michael Togliatti, Lucas Dove and Iram Sanchez had one goal apiece. George, Turlo and Noah Utt handed out two assists apiece while Sanchez, Togliatti, Corbin and Logan Harrod had one assist apiece.

Lexington is now 13-1-1 and takes on Ontario at 5:30 p.m. on Monday at Shelby High School in the Division II district semifinals.

Division III Girls Soccer Sectional Final

Genoa 5, Crestview 0

The Crestview Cougars took a tough 5-0 loss to Genoa in the Division III sectional championship match on Thursday.

Crestview ends the season with a 5-12 record.

Bluffton 4, Mansfield Christian 1

The Mansfield Christian Flames took a 4-1 loss to Bluffton in the Division II sectional championship match on Thursday.

No stats were submitted for this match.

The Flames end their season with a 4-11-2 record.

Division II Sectional Final Volleyball

Shelby 3, Bellevue 0

The Shelby Whippets cruised to a Division II sectional championship on Thursday with an easy 3-0 win over Bellevue by scores of 25-21, 25-20 and 25-15.

Madison Henkel led the way with 15 kills while Adey Cornette added 10.

The Whippets improved to 16-7 and will face Norwalk at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday at Seneca East High School in the Division II sectional semifinals. It was Shelby's first sectional championship since 2012.

Division IV Sectional Final Volleyball

South Central 3, Mansfield Christian 1

The Mansfield Christian Flames took a tough 3-1 loss in the Division IV sectional championship on Thursday falling to South Central by scores of 21-25, 11-25, 28-26 and 18-25.

The Flames end the year with a 16-6 record and the program's first-ever league championship.

Division I Volleyball Sectional Final

Anthony Wayne 3, Madison 0

The Madison Rams saw their 2023 season come to a close on Wednesday night with a 3-0 loss to No. 1 seed Anthony Wayne in the Division I sectional championship game.

Cielo Jacobus led the way with six kills, one dig, one block and one point while Addison Farris added four kills, one point, one ace and one dig. Jillian Pennington handed out eight assists with four digs, one point and one kill and Olivia Barley added 12 digs and two assists.

The Rams finish the year with an 8-17 record.

Division III Boys Soccer Sectional Semifinal

Riverdale 3, Crestview 1

The Crestview Cougars saw their 2023 season come to an end on Wednesday with a 3-1 loss to Riverdale in the Division III sectional semifinals.

No stats were submitted for this game.

The Cougars finish the year 2-11.

Tuesday, Oct. 17

Division II Girls Soccer Sectional Final

Madison 3, Norwalk 0

The Madison Rams picked up another Division II sectional championship on Tuesday night beating Norwalk 4-0.

Nevaeh Lewis led the way with two goals and one assist while Callie Cyrus added a goal and Jada Neal had one assist in the win.

The Rams improve to 10-4-4 on the season and will play Clear Fork at 7:15 p.m. on Oct. 25 at Lexington High School in the Division II district semifinals.

Clear Fork 4, Vermilion 0

The Clear Fork Colts earned an impressive 4-0 Division II sectional final win over Vermilion on Tuesday night to win another sectional championship.

Kendall Windsor led the way with two goals while Ashtyn Wine and Annika Labaki had one goal apiece to secure the win.

Clear Fork improves to 12-3-3 on the season and will play Madison at 7:15 p.m. on Oct. 25 at Lexington High School in the Division II district semifinals.

Lexington 6, Perkins 1

The Lexington Lady Lex kicked off their quest for a second straight district championship with a 6-1 win over Perkins to win the Division II sectional title on Tuesday night.

Makenna Arnholt led the way with a hat trick while Sam Morton, Olyvia Stoots and Zoe Borowicz had one goal apiece. Arnholt had a big day with two assists while Allie Parker, Morton and Borowicz added one assist apiece.

Lexington is now 9-4-4 on the year and will play the winner of Ontario and Shelby at 5 p.m. on Oct. 25 at Lexington High School in the Division II district semifinals.

Division II Volleyball Sectional Semifinal

Clear Fork 3, Perkins 2

The Clear Fork Colts went on the road to pull off a stunning upset over Perkins on Tuesday night in Division II sectional semifinal volleyball action.

After taking the first set 25-14 and the second 25-23, Clear Fork dropped the next two by scores of 25-12 and 25-16 before earning a thrilling 15-10 victory in the fifth set to survive and advance.

Rozy Stover led the way with 13 kills while Bailey Mckee had 11. Stover also added four aces while Emma McCoy and Bri Patterson had three apiece while McCoy had 23 digs and Patterson added 17. Jada Brokaw had 21 assists and Christina Carroll had 12.

The Colts improve to 4-19 and will take on Lexington at 6 p.m. on Thursday at Lexington for the Division II sectional championship.

Division IV Volleyball Sectional Semifinal

Plymouth 3, Lucas 1

The Plymouth Big Red picked up a solid Division IV sectional semifinal win over Lucas on Tuesday to keep their season alive. They won 3-1 by scores of 26-28, 25-22, 25-13 and 25-22.

Jaylin Branham led the Big Red with 15 kills while Kendyll Tolbert added six. Cailynn Bailey had three aces while Branham, Tolbert and Rylie Edwards had four blocks apiece. Leading the way defensively was Branham with 22 digs while Lily Cook had 14, Lily Sparks had 13 and Bailey, Edwards and Chelsea Cunningham had 10 digs apiece. Sparks handed out 27 assists in the win.

The Big Red improves to 5-17 overall and will travel to Buckeye Central at 5 p.m. on Thursday for the sectional championship.

Monday, Oct. 16

Division II Boys Soccer Sectional Semifinal

Lexington 12, Galion 0

The Lexington Minutemen cruised to a tournament-opening win over Galion on Monday night winning 12-0 to advance to the sectional championship game.

Jack Hiebel led the way with two goals while Dylan George, Jaxson Husty, Will Perkins, Austin Fisher, Michael Togliatti, Terrance Corbin, Jackson Pigg, Gabe Schmidt, Adler Hatfield and Colton Yugovich had one goal apiece. Husty, Perkins, Noah Utt, Zachary Turlo, Togliatti and Schmidt had one assist apiece in the win.

The Minutemen move on to host Tiffin Columbian at noon on Saturday for the Division II sectional championship.

Division II Boys Soccer Sectional Final

Ontario 2, Upper Sandusky 1 OT

The Ontario Warriors used a dramatic 2-1 overtime victory over Upper Sandusky to win a Division II sectional championship on Monday night.

Caleb Barabani and Evan Ruhe scored one goal apiece while Hector Sanchez Vidal and Jace Young had one assist apiece.

The Warriors move on to the Division II district semifinals and will take on the winner of Lexington and Tiffin Columbian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 23 at Shelby High School.

Mansfield Senior 4, Clear Fork 1

Division I Sectional Semifinal Volleyball

Madison 3, Toledo Start 0

The Madison Rams picked up a solid win in their Division I sectional opener beating Toldeo Start 3-0 by scores of 25-6, 25-8 and 25-17 on Monday night.

Maddie Berry led the way with 17 service points, 11 aces, 16 assists and three kills while Cielo Jacobus had 12 points, six aces, three kills and three digs. Kayla Putney had seven points, four aces and six kills while Olivia Barley lex the defense with five digs.

The Rams travel to Anthony Wayne on Wednesday for a sectional championship.

Division III Sectional Semifinal Volleyball

Edison 3, Crestview 0

The Crestview Cougars suffered a season-ending loss to Edison in the Division II sectional semifinals on Monday 3-0 by scores of 25-10, 25-17 and 25-18.
