Nets’ Kyrie Irving says teammates are ‘filling their roles’ after massive win over Bucks

New York — Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving did not have his best offensive game in Brooklyn’s 118-110 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday. In the victory, Irving had 18 points, but it came on 6-of-18 shooting from the field. However, the Nets were able to win this game going away and Irving pinpointed the reason why.

“I think we’re just putting together a consistent game plan right now”, Irving said after the lopsided win over the Bucks. “Guys are filling their roles at a high level. No matter who’s in the lineup, this is our group so we’re just rocking. Having fun playing a great brand of basketball, doing the little things, and it’s resulting in wins. Just wanna keep it up, we don’t wanna take our foot off the gas pedal”.

Irving started the game 1-for-9 from the field as it looked like he was out of rhythm because of the way that the Bucks defended him. Irving got rolling in the fourth quarter and played a key part in keeping Milwaukee at bay until Durant got back in the game.

The Nets have now won 12 of their last 13 games.
